Allen remains No. 1, North Crowley strengthens its case and Richmond Randle surges after a dominant Week 4 performance.
The top of the BTGS Texas High School Football rankings held firm in Week 4, but the pressure behind No. 1 Allen continues to build.
North Crowley delivered the weekend’s strongest victory, going on the road and defeating Duncanville, 47–30. Allen answered with another convincing performance against Prosper, while Waxahachie, North Shore and Smithson Valley all won by at least 36 points.
Richmond Randle made the largest move. After an open week, the Lions returned with a 69–14 victory over Victoria East and climbed three positions. All ten teams from last week’s poll remain ranked, but the order has changed.
The BTGS ranking system
Each team is evaluated on a 100-point scale:
Current-season results — 35 points
Quality of opponents — 20 points
Dominance and efficiency — 15 points
Roster strength and championship ceiling — 15 points
Program stability — 10 points
Weekly trajectory — 5 points
1. Allen (4–0)

Previous: No. 1 | Week 4: Defeated Prosper, 51–21
Allen remains No. 1 after scoring at least 50 points for the third consecutive week. The Eagles have now beaten Duncanville, DeSoto, Southlake Carroll and Prosper by a combined 114 points. North Crowley is closing the gap, but Allen’s complete four-game résumé is still the strongest in the BTGS system.
2. North Crowley (4–0)
Previous: No. 2 | Week 4: Defeated Duncanville, 47–30
North Crowley owns the weekend’s best win. The Panthers went into Duncanville and scored 47 points against a program that rarely gives up that kind of production. With victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll, Summer Creek and Duncanville, North Crowley has a legitimate argument for No. 1. The difference between the top two teams is now extremely small.
3. Waxahachie (4–0)
Previous: No. 3 | Week 4: Defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge, 63–27
Waxahachie continues to score at an elite level. The Indians have produced 107 points over the last two games and have quality victories over Coppell and Denton Guyer. Their offense, consistency and undefeated record keep them firmly in the top three.
4. North Shore (4–0)

Previous: No. 4 | Week 4: Defeated Crosby, 58–0
North Shore followed a close win over South Oak Cliff with a complete shutout of Crosby. The Mustangs showed the defensive dominance expected from a championship contender and remain within striking distance of the top three.
5. Smithson Valley (3–0)
Previous: No. 5 | Week 4: Defeated Manor, 79–14
Smithson Valley has scored 142 points in its last two games. The Rangers are undefeated, explosive and increasingly difficult to overlook in a statewide ranking that combines all classifications. They remain No. 5, but their margin over the next group is growing.
6. Richmond Randle (3–0)
Previous: No. 9 | Week 4: Defeated Victoria East, 69–14
Randle makes the week’s biggest move. The Lions already owned victories over South Oak Cliff and Westfield before overwhelming Victoria East. Their defense has allowed only 28 points in three games, and the offense answered any questions created by the 3–0 win over Westfield. Randle rises three positions.
7. Katy (4–0)

Previous: No. 6 | Week 4: Defeated Jordan, 56–10
Katy did not fall because of a poor performance. The Tigers dominated Jordan, rushed for more than 400 yards and extended their district winning streak. They move down only because Randle added another major piece to an already impressive résumé.
8. Ridge Point (4–0)

Previous: No. 7 | Week 4: Defeated Strake Jesuit, 38–6
Ridge Point’s defense took center stage after the offense scored 56 points the previous week. Holding Strake Jesuit to six points showed that the Panthers can win in different ways. They remain undefeated and firmly inside the Top 10.
9. Cypress Ranch (3–0)
Previous: No. 8 | Week 4: Idle
Cypress Ranch remains unbeaten and owns a head-to-head victory over C.E. King. The Mustangs slide one spot only because Randle added a dominant result while Cypress Ranch was off. District play gives them an immediate opportunity to climb again.
10. DeSoto (2–2)

Previous: No. 10 | Week 4: Defeated Burleson Centennial, 29–3
DeSoto has responded to an 0–2 start with consecutive wins. After beating Duncanville by one, the Eagles opened district play with a 26-point road victory. The two early losses prevent a rise this week, but their trajectory is moving in the right direction.
Teams entering and leaving
No teams entered or left the BTGS Top 10 this week. Every ranked team either won or was idle. The biggest internal change was Richmond Randle moving from No. 9 to No. 6.
First five out
C.E. King (3–1)
South Oak Cliff (1–3)
Frisco Lonestar (3-0)
Aledo (2–2)
Atascocita (3–1)
C.E. King’s only loss is a three-point decision against No. 9 Cypress Ranch. South Oak Cliff returned to the win column with a 55–0 shutout, while Duncanville’s difficult schedule keeps the Panthers in the conversation despite a 1–3 record. Aledo has responded to an 0–2 start with consecutive wins, including a 69–0 victory. Atascocita remains another serious Houston-area contender.
Week 5 storyline to watch
The race for No. 1 is becoming the central story of the BTGS poll. Allen owns the better overall scoring margin against shared elite opponents, but North Crowley’s résumé now includes four strong victories and a road win at Duncanville. One slip—or another major North Crowley statement—could change the top spot.
Final word
Week 4 did not produce a new No. 1 or a new team in the Top 10, but it made the rankings more competitive. North Crowley strengthened its case, Richmond Randle reminded the state why it belongs among the elite and DeSoto continued its recovery.
