My name is William Johnson, founder and director of Between The Game Sports. I became passionate about sports at a very young age. Sports, especially the game of basketball, have taught me a lot throughout my life. I fell in love with the game, and it has brought me so many special experiences and relationships that I will always cherish.
I was a member of the Varsity basketball team at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Houston, TX. I was awarded Team Defensive Player of the Year and 2nd Team All-District. I went on to play at the collegiate level at Stephen F. Austin State University. As a member of the SFASU Men’s Basketball Team, I was a Team Captain and Defensive MVP.
My love for coaching came soon after graduating from college. It brings me so much joy to help others succeed and achieve goals that they never thought they would. With nearly 20 years of coaching experience in middle school, high school, and the collegiate level, I have helped over 40 athletes reach their personal goals. These goals range from making their school team to being awarded an athletic scholarship to play the sport that they love at the next level to achieving the highest of accolades and becoming a professional athlete in their sport.
